The Paintings of the Wachau and Wiener Wald

I am not very fond of making the reproductions of my paintings and I was one month back in time. Here is the major part of my efforts. By the way the first one is dedicated to William Wray.

Das Fotografieren meiner Bilder macht mir viel Mühe und ich war einen Monat zurück. Hier ist nun der größte Teil meiner Malerischen Bemühungen. Das erste Bild ist übrigens William Wray gewidmet.

Painting in the Wachau and Wiener Wald

I just returned from a five day painting excursion with Michael. We had great fun and terrible weather. The pictures should make you stay tuned to see the results, but I am almost off again for Bayreuth where I am participating in the annual show of the local Art Club with three paintings from the museum.

Gerade bin ich von einer Fünf-Tage-Exkursion mit Michael in die Wachau und in den Wiener Wald zurückgekehrt. Wir hatten viel Spaß und schreckliches Wetter, jedoch sollen diese Fotos Appetit auf die Gemälde machen, die ich bald ins Netz stellen werde. Nun bin ich schon wieder am Weg nach Bayreuth, wo ich mit drei Museumsbildern in der jährlichen Ausstellung des Kunstvereines vertreten bin.

The gaze of that monkey struck me and I thought of capturing it. Both paintings are from the last visit to the museum some time ago.

Der Blick dieses Affen zog mich so in den Bann, daß ich versuchte dies einzufangen. Beide Gemälde sind von meinem letzten Besuch im Museum, welcher schon vor einiger Zeit war.

The Vicinity of Vienna

From my recent PA´s you can actually tell what the wheather is like at the moment here in Vienna. The two last ones I painted with Michael and we had such a gorgeous day out.

In meinen letzten Plein Air Bilderm sieht man förmlich, wie das Wetter im Moment hier in Wien ist. Die zwei letzten Arbeiten malte ich mit Michael und wir hatten einen fantastischen Tag am Land.

A Writers Portrait continued

Actually I prefer painting the nude because with the dressed figure the people have the habit of wearing different clothes from one sitting to the other. Nevertheless, tell me what you think about the changes.

Tatsächlich male ich lieber Akte, denn bei der bekleideten Figur passiert es immer wieder, daß die Menschen von Sitzung zu Sitzung, andere Kleidung tragen. Nichtsdestotrotz bin ich gespannt auf Eure Meinung zu den Änderungen.

Now that the painting season with my evening class comes to an end I would like to thank our two models we worked with most. Sigrid and Andreas, who were so patient and inspiring to all of us.

Da sich nun die Malsaison mit meinem Abendkurs dem Ende zuneigt, möchte ich unseren zwei Modellen danken, mit denen wir hauptsächlich gearbeitet haben. Sigrid und Andreas, die so geduldig waren und uns inspiriert haben.

A Writers Portrait

Last week I started a new project of portraits of people at their home. This one is the Portrait of Andreas Pichler, a Writer living here in Vienna. Shown here is the stage after the first sitting and I am going to post the progress.

Another wonderful thing today is that my work is featured on EmptyEasel.

Letzte Woche begann ich mit einem Projekt einer Portraitserie von Menschen in ihrem Zuhause. Dies ist das Portrait von Andreas Pichler, einem Wiener Schriftsteller. Zu sehen ist der Zustand nach der ersten Sitzung und ich werde den Fortschritt hier zeigen.

Erfreulicherweise wird meine Arbeit heute auf EmptyEasel besprochen.

Badeschiff

The Badeschiff is a ship in the Danube Canal with a restaurant and a basin where you can go swimming. It is a littlebit weird because in the painting you can see that everybody can watch you from the promenade above. Michael had posted some photos of that place which you are able to see here.

Das Badeschiff ist ein Schiff im Donaukanal mit einem Restaurant und einem Bassin, in dem man schwimmen gehen kann. Es ist etwas eigenartig, denn aus dem Bild kann man entnehmen, daß man jederzeit von der Kanalpromenade beobachtet werden kann. Michael hat ein paar Fotos des Ortes mit seinem Bild gepostet, das man hier sehen kann.

Michael Ornauer and I decided to go to the museum and had been confronted with loads of disturbing kids. On the photo you can see that I painted a person on that sofa which I overpainted. So I got back the other day and finished the painting with more concentration. On Michaels Blog you can see his painting of that spot.

Michael Ornauer und ich beschlossen mal wieder ins Museum zu gehen und waren dort unzähligen störenden Kindern konfrontiert. Auf dem Foto sieht man, daß ich eine Person auf das Sofa malte, die ich wieder auslöschte. So ging ich am nächsten Tag zurück, um das Bild mit mehr Konzentration fertigzumalen. Auf Michaels Blog kann man sein Bild vom gleichen Ort sehen.
