My major aim is painting from life. The important aspects are observation and impression, which are inspired by interest.

Beautiful! I like getting a peek at your palette. I'm reading the Kevin Macpherson books you recommended. I'm almost ready to brave the elements.
Hi Nue.
I like this painting. I think it would be interesting for everyone to see the studio painting you did from this sketch. (I had a sneak preview of it in Vienna if anyone is wondering)
Sure was great painting with you again Nue!
We must do it again soon.
Cheers.... Andrew Judd
Very nice Stefan. Accurate drawing and massing in both.. great that you have the photo to compare with the paintings. Can I ask.. is that an Open Box M that you are using? If so how do you like it?
cheers, Mike
Thanks Silvina! When I started out with PA painting I used MacPhersons limited palette, too. Now I use the a warm and cool version of each primary and two conveniece colors, Phtalo Green and Transparent Oxide Red.
I hope to see some outdoor paintings from you.
Hi Andrew,
I really enjoyed painting along with you, too and I learned so much from it. I will post some of the Weissenkirchen paintings and photos soon.
I haven´t photographed the studio piece yet, therefore it will take some time.
Cheers..Nue
Hi Michael, like Andrew has given me the advice: Slow down and speed up! I try to be more accurate with the drawing and still retain loose. You comment is appreciated.
This box is an EASYL. I like it very much. Andrew works with an Open M Box, so I had the chance to compare the two systems. The Open M Box is lighter, if you don´t use the wooden case, but it it woobles more on the tripod. It also is too expensive. Look up up the additional devices, every single thing costs a fortune.
The EASYL comes with a sturdy tripod, hooks and the brush holder.
Additionally I bought the brush tray, a stone bag and a brush wascher.
The mixing area is deeper and you can transport boards in the back of the lid, which is great.
To end this lecture I have to say, when you look at the PA Painters out there they use one or the other system, which is up to their personal taste and requirements. But you will understand that I write more in favour of the EASYL, in order to tell me that I bought the right thing. ;-))
Cheers..Nue
Great to see some new post Stefan.
To hook up to Michael's question,
have a look here:
Openbox vs Easyl.
Good solid work as usual. The coffin project is looking good. I really like the light in the Roman Ruin.
Hi René, thanks for your comment. The pochade box question is a big issue on WetCanvas and many are keen on discussing their favourite toys. Like I did in my reply to Mike. ;-)
Thanks Chris, for stopping by and leaving a comment.
Stefan, Thanks for your thoughts on the easyL and M box. I had been investigating both and think I like the easyL Box. I love the fact that you can fit a couple of paintings in the back quite easily.
I like the price too!!! Way cheaper than the M box!
cheers, Mike
