Colored Rooms | Farbige Räume

It is great fun to do these paintings and today I want to show you the locations and the setup too.

Diese Bilder zu malen macht viel Spaß und heute zeige ich noch Fotos von den Örtlichkeiten und dem Aufbau.

Stefan, when you are painting in a museum, do you find the visitors distracting? Do they like the presence of a live artist or do they feel you might be in the way? I wonder because I'd like to do something like this, but don't know how the public feels about it.

You must be well known at the museum. Is that a metal cane to keep the public away from you? It is one thing to paint with an easel outside but quite another to have all the people to contend with. You are to be congratulated. Steve

Silvina, sometimes huge groups of school kids are a pain in the a..! In General the people enjoy seeing someone paint. There are also a couple of painters in there who do copies of the old masters.

Personally I enjoy painting in public and do not have any difficulties in painting and talking. I learned that when painting in the studio with models.

Go and paint what and where ever you want, Silvina.

Steve,
actually I don´t know if I am known in the museum. I have a permission to paint there and enjoy it there so much.

The walking cane can be used against agressive school kids and as a malstick.

Thanks for your visit and comment.

Stefan,
All of theses Museum paintings are always interesting. You remind me of how people wonder how a get a worthwhile painting from the subjects I choose. I encourage you to keep going, but have one bit of advice/ opinion. I think you sometimes light the walls a little bright in value and color and lose a little of the dark mood and contrast I see in the photos and would expect to feel in the low light of a museum.
I'd also suggest when doing the same color/ value busts you "cheat" and vary the values/ colors either by each bust or running a subtle color values transition over/ thru a group of them. You achieve this best with the Egyptian glow one. Really work on moody color harmony.

I meet some artists that didn't even know location of the art museums. 5 museums of which are 30 to 45 min. away. Sad really.

William, thank you very much for your useful hints. I try to keep them in mind, but as you know when one paints the brain doesn´t work properly. ;-)

Thanks, Robin.

Rob, you are always so encouraging. Thanks a lot.

Hi Rupert. The main light situation in the museum is determined by these strong contrasts. Thanks for your comment.

Todd, I had met artists who didn´t had a clue of art history either.
