The Urania and a quick sketch | Die Urania und eine schnelle Skizze

Michael and I went on a painting tour again. There were changing weather conditions and we painted at the Danube canal where I chose the Urania as subject. It is an observatory, a cinema and cultural venue. After that we drove through the city without finding decent motive. So we ended in a café where I did the quick sketch of Michael. In Vienna everything is better with a cup of coffee!

Stefan the light you are capturing in these outside scenes is phenomenal.

Stefan, cool pictures.. and an excellent little sketch of your friend. Great expression you caught in the face and I love the splash of colour with the watercolour pan at the bottom of the canvas.

Thanks Bill. I am not really painting, just posing. ;-)

Hi Sheila,
I think in painting representional it all comes down to painting the light.
Thank you!

Hi Michael,

I was also pleased with the result although he didn´t pose and moved all the time. So I didn´t get lost into a tight rendering.

Thanks for you comment.
