New paints and paint box | Neue Farben und Malkiste

This will be a short post from abroad. Meaning Bayreuth, where I will participate in the annual exhibition of the Bayreuther Kunstverein.

Throughout the years I have tried many brands of oilpaints. I think everybody requires different specifications according to his handling of paint. Recently I came accross the paints by Michael Harding and they are great. The consistency and pigmentation are perfect, because I like to use as little painting medium as possible and they can be easily spread and scumbled or applied in heavy impasto. Right now more and more companies carry them, which you can check out on his website.

In the web you will find so many articles and post about pochade boxes and like with paints everybody requires something different, fitting his needs. I have a french easel, very sturdy and for bigger canvases; a homemade cigar box, very lightweight and for 15x 20 cm (6x8 in); an Easyl, very good system but a little too heavy. That´s why I bought an OpenBoxM. I am very happy with it because it is so lightweight and also good for the metric sizes.

Thanks for the info Stefan! I travel a lot so I'm going to be buying a pochade box in the next week or two (I hate being without my paints when abroad). I'll def take your tips into consideration.

Hey Andrew!
Glad to read from you and I hope you are fine. As you know, you are my role model and therefore the OpenBoxM. ;-)
It would be great to paint along pretty soon.
Cheers...Nue

Nice work Stefan!

I'm glad you like the OpenBoxM. I've had one for 7 or 8 years and love it. It has accompanied me on many a painting adventure.

Hi Jared!
I was painting a lot during the last weeks and enjoyed having the OpenBoxM. Lightweight and yet so sturdy.

Competitive basketball is primarily an indoor sport played on carefully marked and maintained basketball courts, but less regulated variations are often played outdoors in both inner city and rural areas.
