Rays of Light

The first painting was painted in a park in the vicinity of Schoenbrunn, the Emperors Castle, and the second one was done in the Schoenbrunn park, where I tried to capture the fleeting moment of the evening sun.

Nue... you captured it exactly right....your painting does have the look of the late afternoon sun. Very beautiful. Steve

Thanks Steve, interestingly I ended up painting the last part of the painting from memory, because the light had changed so much, which was a very good experience.

toll!

English
Scary nice!

I don't know about those figures though, they look a little like cartoons this way. The second one is gigantic much more spontaneous then the work your has done in the museum. Job well done, go on with it!

Nederlands
Beangstigend mooi!

Goed gedaan, ga zo verder!!

It took me a moment but now I see it. I noticed that in Evening Sun the shadows in the distance are nearly sky blue and the shadows are more violet in the foreground. Light bouncing from the trees and their absorbing of the ambient blue (sky) light is warming the foreground shadows. That is not happening in the distance where it is more open. Am I reading this right?

I almost forgot to mention that I'm taken with the painting. It's quite beautiful.

Laß mir doch mal Deine Email Adresse zukommen.

You are such a funny guy, René! Maybe I should ask you if you´d like to translate my whole site into Dutch. ;-)

I seldom paint people in my landscapes, here I liked the idea but the proportions are not good. Next time I´ll give it a better try.

Thanks Frank, for your comment.

Hi Tom, maybe I enhanced the effect a little, but I wanted to differntiate these two planes. In general the whole light situation was so different from the beginning to the end of the session. Thanks for your comment.
