Michael Ornauer and I decided to go to the museum and had been confronted with loads of disturbing kids. On the photo you can see that I painted a person on that sofa which I overpainted. So I got back the other day and finished the painting with more concentration. On Michaels Blog you can see his painting of that spot.

Ol Sarge would approve of these interiors. Good space. Kids can really grate your nerves. Here is my W.C. Fields impresion "Get away from me kid ya botherin' me".
Kids seem to like me for some reason.
Nice painting ---- sounds like the group of kids that I used to teach --- what would they be doing in Austria? At least you paint with Michael --- for protection!!
I hope Ol Sarge would do so, Chris. I come along with them quite well, too. Usually. Your W.C. Fields quote hit the nail on the head.
Why didn´t you take better care of your kids, Steve? Michael was no help either because he hid himself behind his easel and remained mute and deaf, pretending he was not there. ;-)
What now?!
Getting back inside??
Isn't it possible to stuff those kids and put them on display??
Should make a nice painting and it
helps to get away with some of the
frustrations
I like both paintings from you and Michael, and wonder how you get the colors right. There isn't that much light is there?
btw. I looked at the blog Freiluftmalerei and keep thinking of some sort of "feldwebel" when I look at this photo.
What a photo! LOL
It's nice to see you in action here. Nice painting too. You've capture the reflections in the glass perfectly.
In Montreal on vacation I remember when some school children came running into the biosphere and scared away the nice monkey who was, till they showed up, an excellent model. After that I had to go draw the reptiles.
PS: Thanks for the link to Michael's work.
I enjoy the intimate and mysterious mood of 'Vitrine'......
very lovely!
What great discipline to produce such an extraordinary painting even with the distraction of badgering little ones!
your interiors are so good stefan, not that your other stuff is bad, just that your inside paintings got something special
they are so intimate
sounds like you've got no kids yourself....
Three things to know about Stefan:
1. Kids love him (because of his funny toys - brushes, colors and easels).
2. He loves not all of them (but me).
3. He has no bodyguard (I'm just a kind of brush-boy).
Hey René, we returned back to the museum in order to see if everything is allright there. ;-)
This thing I learned from Andrew Judd: http://andrewjudd.blogspot.com/, that the colors are not so important than the values. If you paint in semi darkness everything turns out brighter, but still when the values are right the painting works.
And taking the picture was great fun.
Tom, the refections are so hard to get right and one thing I am still struggling with, is to identify the color and mix it right.
Thanks Jennifer, the crucial part of that painting I did with more concentration without too many onlookers.
Thank you, Rob! Sometimes the mood of a place creates a special appearence. So painting in this museum is a gift for every painter because it offers such a specific sentiment.
And no, I don´t have kids!
Very funny Mister Ornauer! By the time you know me so well. It is almost scary! :-P
You do so much with your interiors. I've be telling myself to do one for years and still haven't... ?? :-)
Amazing paintings!
William, I would be so exited to see how you would deal with interiors. Thank you.
Thanks Shawn, for dropping by and leaving a comment.
