Portrait of S

Now that the painting season with my evening class comes to an end I would like to thank our two models we worked with most. Sigrid and Andreas, who were so patient and inspiring to all of us.

Sigrid vor Rot, 24 x 18 cm, Oil on Canvaspanel

What a better way to end the painting season by creating such a captivating portrait!

You are definively right, Jennifer. Thank you!

I agree with Jennifer about your portrait. It is positively arresting!

My Best to You!

wow! You seem to manage painting everything from portraits to landscape with incredible skill. You make it look easy, which is the sign of a painter who knows what he is doing.
Well done work here.
All my best to you,
Todd

Love the loose brush strokes and warm color!

Hi Mike, thank you for your comment and I find it so inspiring what painters all over the internet and world, like you do.

Thanks Todd for dropping by and leaving a comment and this wonderful compliment. I used to paint mostly portraits and nudes for many years. By gaining more technical security and loosing the ambition to produce art, I experienced the joy of seeing the world around me through painters eyes. So I broadend my subject matters. That maybe an explanation.

Beautiful fresh colour and loose expressive brushwork.
Just what I'd expect from you Nue!

Cheers... Andrew

Thanks Danny, the drag with portraits is that almost everybody can see the flaws in the drawing. That is really a challenge.

Stefan Nuetzel said...

Hi Chris, it is so hard to see these things and when I do, I try to push these color accents in the right direction, which sometimes failes.

Stefan Nuetzel said...

Thanks Rob, during painting I struggled with that red because it is so overwhelming. I know why you like it. One word: FERRARI! ;-)

Stefan Nuetzel said...

Hi Andrew, you are still alive. I am also looking forward to expect some good painting from you soon. ;-)
Thank you!

These did not fail. ;-) Did you see my portrait of the lady with the green hat on my blog?

Chris, what do you mean with "these"? Maybe you posted your comment under the wrong picture. I saw your portrait and it has got such a wonderful expression.
