Some women | Einige Frauen

Because of the new studio I did some more studio works. I did the first painting already smaller, found the whole concept successful and I did a bigger version of it. I still struggle with doing a bigger painting from a small study. The big size recquires an entirely different painterly approach.

The two drawings will serve as studies for painted versions.

Hi Christof,
although this is painted mostly from photo reference I try not to render the details too much und stay loose with my brushwork. Thanks for your comment.

Thanks René! I don´t quite get what you mean. ;-)
Cheers!

I think Rene means to say: How long did you work on the painting?
I really like it Stefan, your figure work is really good. Thanks for including the closeup.

Danke Erik,

Thank you Erik for the translation. ;-)
And for your compliment. I find it always interesting to see different subject matters by a painter.
Cheers!

René!

I do not know how long I painted on the big painting, because I started it some time ago and worked frequently on it. Maybe four tree hour sessions.
The drawing usually take me 2-3 hours.

With your expectations you put a lot of pressure on me! ;-)

i love the composition of this painting, the angle of the head and the powerful image it leaves in my mind and the painterly strokes.....wonderful work Stefan and lookign forward to seeing more:)

Thanks Rahina,
before I started the plein air work I mostly painted people. From time to time I got fed up by being dependent on other people (The models) in my work. The fascination with the human figure is still alive and right now I enjoy it increasingly.
